Great Office Choice Result

Written by admin. Posted in FrontpageNews

Congratulations to all the members of the ISS Office Choir on their third place in the final last weekend.
A lot of great effort, hours of rehearsals and painstaking organisation went into their performances and they should be very proud of their achievement.
We at ISS certainly are!
Thank you to Mr Chitambo, the choir and of course everyone that voted for them.
They’ll be back next year for another go at the top spot.

Well done!

Christmas Stars of the Week

Written by admin. Posted in FrontpageNews

The last group of starts of the week joined the Principal for snacks today. They were all excited by their success in various areas such as cursive writing, improved efforts overall, using good questioning techniques, being a positive member of the class. More exciting still were their Christmas plans to spend quality time with their family and friends either overseas or in Seychelles. All our stars had clear targets to continue improving their learning upon their return.
A very Merry Christmas to you all.

Stars of The Week

The stars of the week were honoured once again for their hard work and good learning ethics by the Principal.  After excitedly sharing the reasons why they were awarded stars of the week; they all became really pensive when they were asked what they would wish for if they could have one wish come true.  And then bright eyed some of the answers were: I would wish that all animals were taken care of; I would wish for unlimited wishes; I would wish for all children to be happy.  It’s refreshing how our children think beyond themselves to the greater good of others.  Something we as adults could be reminded of every once in a while.  Well done stars.

Final First Aid week for Duke of Edinburgh Students

Written by admin. Posted in FrontpageNews

This was the final week that students who are working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award completed their First Aid training.  A third new cohort of students practiced emergency medical care on a variety of patients. The course covers key lifesaving skills and gives participants the opportunity learn about the more common medical conditions and outlines the appropriate treatment for adults, children and babies including wounds, bleeding, choking, sprains and fractures.

A huge congratulations to the 45 students who completed the training.

The practical course was provided by Anne Rose-Innes from First Care who will be leading further courses at ISS in the future.  Many thanks to her and First Care for the last three weeks of training.
