Padi Open water qualifications

Written by admin. Posted in FrontpageNews

6 students from ISS proudly received their Padi Open water diving certification. The students took part in the training last year and the studies included exams, skills training and 4 boat training dives. Well done to Antonia Ah-Kon, Aiden Allcorn, Farhaan and Alina Muslun, Piedun Leonnel, and Benjamin Sedgewick who completed this tough training course. CONGRATULATIONS we hope that in future they will use these skills to pick up plastic from the ocean floor and assist in some of the many coral restoration projects that are taking place around the world.

Outdoor Education programme with 6E

Students in 6E were able to experience a wealth of environmental studies this term through field trips to the Biodiversity Centre, Barbarons – to view the endemic Seychelles flora, to the MCSS Banyan tree Research and Rehabilitation centre – to learn about local terrapins and tortoises. New skills were also honed with GVI volunteer staff at Port Launay where students learnt how to snorkel in order to discover the wonders of our inshore coral reefs and their life forms.
