Beautification of the school grounds – Art class projects

Written by admin. Posted in FrontpageNews

To celebrate the diversity of ISS and brighten up the walls of the ISS carpark art students worked with Ms Esther and Ms Doris to improve the appearance of our school campus. We have a great number of different nationalities represented by pupils at the school and Year 9 students drew body shapes and painted them in the colours of the different flags of the world. These art classes are currently working on Street art and were inspired by Keith Haring’s work to do the silhouettes before painting them. Year 8 classes captured our school wetlands in bright colours studying Trash Art as they decided to create a 3D wetland as well as a coral reef to raise awareness of ocean pollution. Year 7 pupils are working on windows and the ‘looking out on the world” windows open up onto different worlds or issues.

Vivienne’s untimely death had been mourned by many and hopefully this memorial will help the young students to remember the wonderful person they knew as their teacher.
