Damien Laporte has again proved that he is amongst the best under 14 tennis player on the African continent by winning the singles title of the African junior championship in Pretoria South Africa.
In the final, Laporte beat Nigerian number one player, Michel Osewa, 7-5 and 6-4. This is another feat for this young tennis sensation who has won the best tennis award locally twice in a row.
According to his manager, Laporte was also supposed to be playing the doubles finals but will probably have to forfeit the match as his partner, Kenyan Ryan Ranbeik, is out injured. Laporte is expected back in Seychelles this weekend.
