Final First Aid week for Duke of Edinburgh Students
This was the final week that students who are working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award completed their First Aid training. A third new cohort of students practiced emergency medical care on a variety of patients. The course covers key lifesaving skills and gives participants the opportunity learn about the more common medical conditions and outlines the appropriate treatment for adults, children and babies including wounds, bleeding, choking, sprains and fractures.
A huge congratulations to the 45 students who completed the training.
The practical course was provided by Anne Rose-Innes from First Care who will be leading further courses at ISS in the future. Many thanks to her and First Care for the last three weeks of training.
