Year 2 visit to Avani Hotel and Spa Barbarons

Written by admin. Posted in FrontpageNews

Avani Hotel Barbarons invited Year 2 on a fact finding mission at their hotel. Our main aim was to do a beach study and the children were excited to find 2 types of crustacean and many shells and corals. We were treated to a guided tour around the hotel to see the luxurious Spa as well as the slightly less glamourous waste water treatment plant. Year 2 children have been learning about water purification and we were interested to see the hotels systems. The children enjoyed a tasty lunch at the end of the day.

Many thanks to the Management of the Avani Hotel who made this trip possible.

EC Astro Turf Improvements!

Written by admin. Posted in FrontpageNews

Thanks to all the Mums, Dads, Teachers and Students who came along last Sunday to help layout the Astro Turf behind the EC building. It was hot, sweaty and rather dirty work but everyone got stuck in.
There is a wonderful plan for this entire area, including a wildlife garden area and a play area.
Later on Monday evening more Dads and Teachers came back to school to lay down the glue.

And not to forget a big thank you to Eileen Houareau and all former PTA members who raised the funds for the AstroTurf – and of course to all parents who supported the many Bake Sales that were needed to put the money together.

We will keep you updated with the project as it progresses.
