STEM Club Building Up Momentum

SSTEMClubTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) club is now running on Tuesday’s lesson 6 and is quickly increasing in numbers. The first activity was building the tallest tower using spaghetti and marshmallows. Students had to carefully consider the shape/structure of the tower to ensure it could stay standing on its own. Hansi and Dewmi managed to build the tallest tower and Richard built the strongest tower which managed to hold up some weights.

The second challenge was a paper airplane competition. Students thought carefully about how planes are designed to fly and then were limited to two sheets of A4 paper to make a practice and then a final competition design. Thyron built and flew the winning plane.

STEM club is still available for anyone to join the fun science based activities.
