Miss Caroline King
Head of Primary
Caroline was raised in London in the UK and spent 22 years teaching and leading in the borough of Hackney where she grew up. 16 of these years were in school leadership, 12 as a Headteacher and 5 as an Executive Headteacher leading two schools.
Growing up and working in the heart of inner city London means Caroline has gained vast experience of school improvement and school strategic leadership against a backdrop of the equality agenda and securing good outcomes for all pupils.
In her senior leadership posts Caroline has led on curriculum design, behaviour management and pastoral care, teaching and learning, school improvement and school strategic planning. As an Executive Headteacher, she gained considerable experience in school finance, Human Resources and managing organisational change.
A passion for ensuring creativity and arts are high on the agenda when delivering the primary curriculum stems from Caroline’s background in music in which she gained a degree from Sheffield University. She subsequently gained her PGCE from the University of East London and NPQH from the National College of School Leadership.
Caroline has sat on children’s safeguarding boards and been a governor for a local business enterprise group which introduces children to the world of work, which was also attached to a pupil referral unit which aimed to reintegrate vulnerable pupils into mainstream school.
