French Activities
La Fête de la Francophonie is celebrated on 20th March each year. It celebrates the French language and the diversity of cultures linked to this language all around the world. Years 7A and 7B had the chance to go for a visit at the Alliance Française des Seychelles. They were able to obtain some information about services offered at the Alliance française, (library, workshops and other activities). They also visited an exhibition about ‘Dis-moi dix mots sur la Toile'(Tell me ten words about the web). Moreover, it was also the opportunity for these classes to place their French poems onto the arbre à poèmes (poem tree).
Aside visits, the Club de Français has been quite active, embracing Francophonie, by participating in the Chasse au Trésor ”En quête de la Francophonie” (The Francophonie Quest). Les scorpions, a team of four students, (Antonia Ah-Kon, Grizelda Bibi, Bion and Mia Maria) practised the French language during this very exciting event about the French History of Seychelles, on Saturday 18th March. This event was an appetizer to the Fête de la Francophonie celebrations of the Alliance française. These ISS students proudly represented the school and improved their language skills during games, organised in the afternoon, on the 20th March, at the Alliance française.
The Club de Français is looking forward to participate in other activities soon, such as La Fête de la Musique in June.
