ISS ART STUDENTS ILLUSTRATE CLIMATE CHANGE IN BIG DRAW EVENT

ISS students along with 5 other schools in Mahe got together to share their concerns about climate change. ‘Big Draw’ has been organised by the Arterial Network Seychelles for the last four years. This year’s event took place last Saturday under the theme ‘A Climate of Change’ and brought the work of 80 students together.

The Big Draw was to show how the students saw themselves playing a part in Global warming and Climate change. The words that ISS students had to illustrate were “We are the change”. The students integrated portraits of themselves into different natural elements – either positive or negative ones depending on their view of the state of the planet.

The students had a bit of time to develop their concepts and all the drawings were done in one day. The drawings were put together by 2 representatives from the school to show the complete quotations and spread a powerful pro-environmental message. The art work was displayed in the Eden Island art space. Well done to everyone who took part in this event.
