SILVER EXPEDITION
Our inaugural silver expedition started at the school, towards Sans Soucis road and eventually ended at Bel Ombre primary school, at around 3 pm.
The second day was switched to accommodate a student Mykyta Moisieiev, who is completing Bronze, but needed to also be present at the graduation. The second day was rather short as we went up the Dans Gallas trail and back to camp.
The third day, Sunday the 16th was the longest and torturous yet the most enjoyable trail. We went up Mare aux Cochons, trail to the national park and back down via the painful endless staircase around Le Niole. Students cooked their own food and took care of their environment.
The students were upbeat and full of humour all through. They were well behaved and displayed teamwork. Assessors were impressed with this aspect and told me afterwards that they were pleasantly surprised at the standard of behavior.
They are required to complete reports on the expedition and send them to the D of E through me prior to receiving their silver awards.
I have handed over their tracking sheets for scrutiny and they should be awarded their silver qualifications soon.
Special thanks to the accounts, to Mr. Obst and the nurse for making the event smooth.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement.
