Year 3’s Geographical & Scientific Adventure!

Both Year 3 classes went on an exciting geographical and scientific adventure down to Beau Vallon beach today. Both classes looked at the impact of humans on the local beach landscape to consolidate their class work. Students realised there were many positive aspects and many negative aspects of the changes to the physical landscape. To make a positive contribution to the environment, many children carried out a beach clean up as they walked along. 6 bags of rubbish were removed from the beach. Students also did a small survey of the sand, rocks, rivers and rock pools for alive, dead and non-living items. A fun-filled day of learning was had by everyone.
